About June Sucker: Overview
Each spring, biologists capture adult June sucker in the Provo River spawning run. Biologists conduct multiple tests to learn more about June sucker.
As is the case with many threatened and endangered species, the June sucker received little attention from the scientific community or wildlife agencies prior to its federal listing. Consequently, little is known about the life history and general biology of the species. And unfortunately, there are only a few wild June sucker remaining making it difficult to gain basic biological information, which is essential to recovery efforts.
